I am totally amazed at how this book caught my attention from the first word. I was barely able to put it down and finished it in three sitting. The basis of the book is that no matter what our circumstances, we need to put everything into perspective.
Andy Andrews was once homeless, living underneath a pier. He is now a best selling author and is a motivational speaker for top corporations, celebrities and the US Military. The book is somewhat autobiographical. Mr. Andrews tells the story of how an elderly gentlemen named Jones found him under a pier and taught him that his perspective on his current situation could either drag him down or it could bring him to greatness. Mr. Andrews discovered that Jones spoke to others when they were in difficult situations and had lasting effects on thier lives. Jones used humor and analogies and historical figures to make his point. By doing so, he saved marriages from divorce, individuals from suicide and changed the directions of many lives.
While reading how Jones helped those characters in need, he was also teaching me how to put things in my own life in perspective. I love his statement “What you focus on increases”. If you focus on negativity…it increases, but if you focus on the positive…it increases.
This book is a must read. You will definitely finish the book with a new outlook…no matter what your circumstances are.
There is a worldwide movement that is being launched in connection with the release of this book on April 28 to “notice” the 5 most influential people in your life. The Noticer Project is meant to have us step outside our busy lives and let those individuals that have impacted our lives know what they mean to us.

GMA $15 Dinner Dare
Chrissy Pate, co founder of BeCentsAble.net was asked to appear on GMA's $15 Dinner Dare to assist Robin Roberts purchase ingredients for Wolfgang Puck to prepare a tempting meal for a family of four. He was able to make 6 dishes for just $15. There is not a direct link to the videos, but if you scroll down on the main page under recently seen on GMA you will be able to see both sections of the Dare. Here are links to the dishes that he made.
This Dare just goes to show how far $15 can be stretched even in these tough economic times when you watch the store sales and use coupons.
