You´ve seen the Biggest Loser on TV, watched the contestants struggles and achievements, and may have even thought, "Hey, I can do that!" Instead of waiting for the BBQs to be over and your schedule to open up, put all excuses aside and make a pledge to live healthier with the Pound For Pound Challenge.
The Kroger Co. Family of Stores, General Mills, NBC's hit TV Show "The Biggest Loser" and other key sponsors are partnering to donate up to $1,080,000 to Feeding America this year.
If you´re a fan of the Biggest Loser, you may have seen several great General Mills products featured on the show. These products, including Yoplait Greek yogurt, Total, and MultiGrain Cheerios.
Now I have to be honest...
I have not watched every single minute of every episode of the Biggest Loser, but I do check in to check on the contestant's progress. I am totally amazed at the change in the contestants appearance; as well as, the change in their attitude and confidence.
These contestants return to their hometowns and their friends and families barely recognize them at their new weight.
This year, in 18 weeks the contestants lost 150 lbs or more!
The 2010 Biggest Loser Winner, Michael Ventrella who had a starting weight of 526 pounds, lost a total of 264 pounds!! Take a look at him now!
For every pound you pledge* to lose through June 30, 2010, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 14¢ to Feeding America®—enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a local food bank. (*You do not have to lose it by June 30th, just make your pledge)
I know that 14¢ does not sound like much, but check out the Pound For Pound Challenge to see how many pledges have been made so far! While you are there, why not make your own pledge?
I have taken this statement directly from the Pound For Pound Challenge facebook page:
