New Site Count Down!

Within the next 24 hours or so you will be seeing changes going on here at ClipperGirl's Saving Spot.  The web design is finished and I am so excited about unveiling it to you.  Courtney will soon be hanging a sign on this site letting you know that changes are starting.  She will be directing feeds to the new site and hopefully everything will go smoothly.  My new domain address is clippergirl.com.  Short and simple!

The navigation bar will be a work in process for a couple of weeks, but will be a great addition and will make it easy to access archives, an automated blogroll, a contributors page and direct links to stores, coupon policies, etc.

I am, also, working on a subscription system where readers will have a choice between receiving updates on a daily basis or as a new post is made.  This will be a great addition for those **HOT** deals and coupons that can sometimes go quickly.

Thanks for your patience as these changes take place. . . . it will be well worth it.

Behind The Curtain !!!

Behind this curtain is the NEW Clipper Girl's Saving Spot.  I have seen a mock up of the design and I am so excited.  Courtney from Judith Shakes Designs is my web designer and she has done an awesome job.  She is putting the finishing touches on the web design and then I will be moving to WordPress and will have my own domain name!!

The site is sleek and clean.  It will be easier to read, will load faster and will be easy to navigate.

Courtney will be "hanging" a sign on this site once the move is made with a link to the new site!!

Changes Are Coming To ClipperGirl's Saving Spot

Your going to be seeing this sign around ClipperGirl's very soon!!  Many of my blogging friends have convinced me to move on up to WordPress.  Several of our Blogger friends have had thier entire blogs deleted by Google or designated as Spam!!  Enough is enough.  I work too hard to take that chance so I have been talking to WordPress users and they are extremely happy.  Their sites are cleaner and crisper. . .more professional looking and there are loads more options for me in order to make the site easier to navigate for readers.  I will be having a new site design as well.  My web designers will be ready with initial design ideas in about one week and I am getting very excited about the changes. 

Some of my plans are:

A great Navbar with drop down boxes for easy access to store, deals, etc..

A section that will list the most current 5-10 posts so that instead of having to scroll down the whole page, you will be able to choose the posts that you want to read. 

A printable format

McLinky permanently installed

Couponing To Disney Surpasses Her Goal

Back in September, I posted about Kristin from Couponing To Disney and her goal to use coupons, surveys, etc to save for her families trip to Disney this year.  Her goal was $1800 for 7 nights. 

I received an email from her that she not only made her goal of $1800, but she actually saved over $3200.  Now her trip is 12 nights!!  Check out her post with an explanation of she was able to save so much in less than one year.

After her trip she is starting at $0 and beginning her savings for her 2011 trip to Disney.

Congratulations!! Kristin!! You have truly inspired me!!

Temporarily away!

I was in the middle of working on the Harris Teeter match ups today, when I got the word that my best friend's husband has passed away. He has suffered from liver cancer for many years and had evidently failed rather quickly. I headed to Wilmington to be with her. His funeral is tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. I will return home tomorrow evening and will finish the matchup and find you more wonder deals and freebies.

I ask that you all keep her and her step son in your prayers.

Harris Teeter Shopping Issue-BOGO Deals

I had an incident happen while shopping at Harris Teeter over the weekend that I wanted to share.  I, also, wanted to see if anyone has had the same problem.

I know that you can no longer use two coupons on a BOGO deal so I usually purchase BOGO items in separate transactions so that I can use coupons.  This weekend I was purchasing the Green Giant Valley Fresh Steamers and Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt multipacks.  I had a coupon for each item.  The cashier told me that in order to use a coupon, I had to purchase two of each.  I was totally caught off guard and asked the cashier when did the policy change.  She told me that it has always been that way.  One of the managers came over to assist with the situation.  She told me that the cashier is correct.  In order to use a coupon on a BOGO deal, you have to purchase both.  Now, that totally seems unfair to me.  I let them know that this seems totally unfair and that I would be contacting corporate to get thier official word. 

HT corporate can be VERY slow responding to complaints so I wanted to check with you all.  Let me know if you have had the same issue.

If I find that HT corporate agrees with this policy, then my match ups will change to agree with the policy.
