I am still on a savings high today after HT triples, free diapers, frozen mixers, etc.
I made two nightly trip to FL for frozen No Worries Drink Mixers, $1.06 FL sugar and free FL baby wipes, then the fun really began with HT triples. Here is a rundown of my Thursday and Friday savings
On Thursday I did 4 "shops" at Harris Teeter. On Friday, my friend, Ruthie and I made a day of it (and I do mean a day of it) hitting HT (6 shops), Walmart, Target and Food Lion. It is not something we do often and by the time the day was over at 7:00 pm, we were loopy.
Here are the highlights:
During one of my shops at HT they had put out some rod iron looking planters which were marked down 75%. The original Retail was $171.92. I paid $42.92 for 8 planters.
We found Head and Shoulders trial size shampoo 2/$3 and we had $3/2 coupons from the P&G insert that did not indicate a size and did not exclude trial size. We each ended up with 14 free shampoos.
While at Walmart, I found the trial size Gillette 2 n 1 body wash marked .97 each. I had $1 coupon that I had been holding onto for this deal. I got to the register and I had a negative balance of $3.64. In looking at the receipt we learned that each bottle rang up at .79 not .97. I had to quickly come up with something for the overage so I bought some storage containers. I paid .81 oop for 20 trial size body washes and 5 storage containers.
The Greenville Community Shelter is looking for donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc so I will be donating my trial sizes and .09 toothbrushes to the shelter.
At Target we did the Johnson & Johnson/Bandaid/Neosporin deal. For anyone not familiar with it here goes. There were $5/3 J&J/Bandaid/Neosporin/Carefree products good only at Target q's a few weeks ago. I had bought several on ebay because this was such a hot deal....and moneymaker.
I ended up with $38.50 worth of free bandaids and neosporin. I still have 6-8 more of those coupons to use before the end of the month.
We did two shops at Food Lion to get the No Worries mixes, .25 Tropicana juice, $1.06 sugar and free baby wipes.
After all was said and done on Friday, I had purchased $621.71 worth of groceries, cleaning items/hba products and paid OOP $83.31. That is a savings of 86.6%!!! Love those savings.!!!
Saturday evening, Ruthie and I did one more shop at Harris Teeter and hit 3 Walgreens to scounge up some diapers for the diaper deal. The shelves were almost bare. I managed 4 packs at the first store and 3 at the second store. These are donated to Discovery Church for the Watermelon festival. I paid .99 per pack and got $10 in RR. So FREE diapers for the church.
I also was able to take advantage of the L'oreal Natural Match hair color double dip. Both the July and August Easy Saver catalogs had $2.00 coupons and I had $5 manufacturers coupons. I got 15 boxes at .49 each. So the next time you see me with grey roots, you can tell me there is no excuse for it.
My last trip at HT was for the cheese and lunch meat deals so my OOP was lots higher. I got $82.13 worth of cheese and luncheon meat (and a free jar of Planter's peanuts) for $35.32. It was a savings of 57%. I now have enough cheese and sandwich meat to last for months...til the next triples. Thank goodness for our freezer.
So all and all a great savings week.
Then Charlie and I hit Walmart today and got
2 bags of Tostitos scoops
1 bag of Sanita chips
2 jars of Lays spinach dip
1 container of fish food
1 bag of rocks
1 reusable cloth shopping bag
3 tomatoes
for $32.00.....
that is just wrong!!!.....Walmart is supposed to be the cheapest place to shop..............hmmmmm?????
