No More Red Plum Inserts???

Seems that Valassis Corporation who produces the Red Plum Coupon inserts has pulled the inserts from several markets in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Utah, Virginia, Washington D.C., North Carolina, Maryland, and Texas. If they have begun in major markets our smaller markets are not far behind.

Based on what I have been reading, you can email RedPlum to have an insert mailed to you or can use their online printables; however, the problem is that many of us purchase multiple papers in order to build our stockpile. (Honestly, with the cost of postage rising so often, why would a company want to mail out inserts anyway??)

Is this the future of coupon inserts? I am sure that many of us purchase the Sunday paper and only glance through it...if even that. What will become of the already struggling newpaper industry?

Many of the women in the blogging community are joining forces to stop Red Plum from pulling inserts.

Post edited to provide a listing of newspapers that will continue to have Red Plum inserts.
