Luncheon With Mr. Sheetz

It's great to know that retailers are interested in our comments and input. Read this post that I "borrowed" from my friend, Kim:

So last week I get an e-mail from Sheetz asking me to a customer appreciation luncheon. I am a big fan of freebies, so I sign up for e-mails for all kinds of stuff and often get spammed to death.

I love Sheetz because their gas prices are competitive, have yummy coffee, and it is a good clean place to go for gas, so I gave it a shot.

First of all they held it at the City Hotel and Bistro and had a nice lunch for everyone there (about 25 of us). Bill was convinced we would have chili dogs and pretzel sandwiches, which was not the case. The VP of the company, Mr. Sheetz himself was there. They were looking for input both positive and negative about their stores and took the time to listen to everyone. Apparently this is something they do a couple of times a year to get an idea of how they are doing in a particular market.

They also talked about how they want to get more involved in the communities they are in--which of course made my non-profit-loving self happy. They seemed geniunely interested in what we had to say.

So for two hours of my time, I got a free lunch, gas card, spiffy new t-shirt and a deeper appreciation for Sheetz and its mission.

Go ahead and get on their e-mail list and you may be next.
