Greenville/Winterville NC Resident's Alert

This may seem like a strange post for a money saving blog; however, I consider my readers to be friends and I want those in my area to be aware that there is a gentleman going around the Winterville area posing as a saleman for Apex Security Systems.

He was in my neighborhood last night. He was seen walking in people's yards right in front of thier houses right up to thier front door. When he spotted a security system sign he walked away. She watched as one neighbor opened her door. Once the gentleman left, she asked the neighbor what he wanted. He said he was with Apex Security Systems. He had a business card, but no identification. Latter, he was seen laying in the front yard of another neighbor talking on his cellphone. Latter, someone saw as a car came and picked the man up.

My neighbors contacted Apex Security Systems and learned that they do not have anyone going door to door selling security systems. Apex has had numerous phone calls with the same complaint. My neighbors; then, contacted a neighbor who is with the sheriff's department who in turn contacted the Greenville Police Department.

I have emailed members of my church and co-workers in my office and have learned that this man has been making the rounds. He tries to get you to let him into the house. He is a young man with medium brown hair. If this gentleman shows up at your door, DO NOT let him into your house. I would contact the police immediately. By all means, stay safe.
