Harris Teeter Multiple Shop Change

As we are all aware, Harris Teeter corporate policy allows 20 doubled/tripled coupons per day; however, the registers have always allowed us to complete 5 shops before the register beeped. I just read on WUC and Savvy Dollar that registers are now being programmed to flag cards once 20 coupons have been doubled. According to one poster on WUC, his manager stated that all registers will be programmed before the next triples (some have already been programmed much to the embarrassment of some shoppers today). According to Savvy Dollar, by the end of the year registers will also flag cards that have not been registered with Harris Teeter and coupons used on those cards will not double.
I quess the glory days of unlimited shops due to unregistered cards are over. On the bright side, I think it will be to the greater benefit to the whole. Many times, I have been to the store on the evening of the first day of triples to find store shelves stripped of the great deals.
I have, again, read that Harris Teeter will not be accepting competitor's catalina coupons even though they are really manufacturer's coupons. This may be YMMV depending on the store manager's interpretation of the policy.

thanks for the info barbara. it sounds fair to me. like you said, it will really benefit those of us who try to follow the "rules".
