Bargain hunters may want to start cruising the Prescriptives counters for deals after it was recently announced that the Prescriptives brand is being discontinued. Estee Lauder's new chief executive Fabrizio Freda said the company will be closing all retail counters globally, effective January 31, 2010.

Shoppers will still be able to purchase products online at Prescriptives.com while inventory lasts. Calyx fans will be happy to hear that the fragrance will continue to sell after the closures. It will be available online and in department stores beginning February 1, 2010.
