I received an email from Hillary Reynolds with Staples concerning Staples setickk to it!...a social media/community platform where small business owners can get goals for the coming year, reach thier goals and earn FREE goodies in the process. (It can even be used by us Mommy Bloggers). Categories include Organizing Finances, Organizing Your Office, Task Management and Technology Upgrading.
The Staples stickK to it! Business Challenge is a free, online tool that can assist in developing business goals for the year, and more importantly, gives professionals an easy formula to support one another in reaching their professional goals. Users can register at www.staples.com/goals and participate for free to receive encouragement from fellow colleagues to keep commitments on track. The platform even offers incentives toward reaching goals in the form of EasyPoints, redeemable for products and services that can also help achieve success in the workplace.
Users receive points for making commitments, reporting on their progress and following through with their goals. For as little as 100 points, users can receive a leather office chair and enter-to-win a $100 gift card to Staples…up to leather journals, office software and gift cards to Home Depot & American Express for more points!
The program is a partnership with stickK.com, a goal-setting site gaining popularity for everything from dieting to giving up swearing. Developed by Yale University professors, the concept is based on research that has shown people are 80% more likely to achieve their goal when incentives and accountability are on the line. The office supply company teamed up with them after a recent Staples survey found that more than 80 percent of small business owners admit they don’t monitor their goal-setting or enlist the proper “coaches” and advisors to help them achieve their goals.
Here’s how the program works:
1) Log on to www.staples/goal.com anytime between today and April 12, 2010
2) Select professional goals such as getting organized, greening the office and saving the business money.
3) Track progress, enlist a referee and earn EasyPoints for completing steps toward goals redeemable for office supply merchandise and services.
4) Access valuable resources (articles, tips & tactics), while sharing commitments and progress with others, participating in discussions forums with other users, networking with other users by establishing friend connections and finding other users to help support your goals.
